A vivid exchange of\nideas on the pupils\u2019 learning during the competence-oriented units &#8220;The\nMixed-up Chameleon&#8221; and &#8220;Das Elfchen&#8221; followed a practical and\ntheoretical discussion of the lessons guided by the teachers, who had taught\nthe research lessons and knowledgeable others. The participants of the\nin-service training thus received an introduction to Lesson Study and were\ngiven the opportunity to establish teams and to sign up for the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lesson Study and teacher learning through\ntheir collaboration with knowledge others is a new, on-site format for\ncontinuing professional development in Lower Austria. Teachers choose areas of\ninterest for their schools and classes, and with the support of Lesson Study\nfacilitators they can collaborate in developing their pupils&#8217; learning in the\nsubjects of German, English, mathematics, music and arts education directly at\ntheir schools.
